It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Ok... I couldn't wait! I said the pics would go up next week, but I couldn't contain my excitement! My house now has Christmas decor! Not anything to do with Coffey Cakes but I had to share! I love my peacock tree! I am working on a wreath and a table center piece now! So keep checkin back for more Christmas decor by Kim! (If anyone needs a tree decorated, I'd be glad to let ya hire me. LoL!)

A little bit of everything... from Coffey Cakes

So here are the rest of the cakes from last week! Sorry for the delay. With Halloween came a busy weekend for us! Sherlene made a cake for her cousin Ricky's 50th Birthday! (Happy Birthday), I (Kimberly) made a wedding shower cake, and Jordan (my  hubby) tried his hand at a Halloween cake (Not bad for a first)! I was also busy making London's Halloween costume! I thought it turned out super cute! So here are the cakes! Next week be on the lookout for my Christmas tree! (I know its way early, but I love Christmas and I love to decorate! If you need a tree call me, I'd love to do it for ya) Also next week a 40th Birthday Auburn cake, and some Alabama cupcakes.

For the hunter in us all...

So I (Kimberly) am  not much of a hunter, but I have been known to go kill a few hours in a tree stand...
Well, Connie gave us a call and wanted a cake for her sweet mans birthday! She wanted it to have something to do with hunting so it gave us the opportunity to be creative. This cake was inspired by the sunrises that I have watched from the tree stand. (And if I would have ever saw a buck like that somewhere across the horizon, I might be a bigger hunter than I currently am, LoL!) Hope you enjoy Connie, 'cause it was a fun cake to do!

A weekend full of cakes

This was a crazy busy cake weekend for me (Kimberly). With three cakes and a diaper cake on top of having the husband home for the weekend, and a energetic 3 year old I barely had any down time. But I was very happy to have the opportunity!
Saturday started off with a baby shower for Susanna. I made the diaper  cake, it was a new experience for me and I think it turned out super cute!

Cake #1 for the weekend was an Alabama Hounds tooth cake for a church friend... (Its so hard for me to make Bama cakes, lol but with Auburn playing the way they are this season it makes it a little easier.)

Cake #2: Stuart and his dogs for my cousins Stuart's birthday! This one was really fun to do. And it inspired the energetic 3 year old, mentioned above, to want to make her own play dough creations. (No worries Shelia, Jamie, and Stu we kept her far away from your cake with her play dough, LoL)

Cake #3: 1st Birthday Cake for Bella! Monkey's were the theme! Smash cake included (you know a kid's gotta have their own cake) They turned out super cute as well.

We have 3 more cakes this week at Coffey Cakes stay tuned for more pics and thanks for following!

The Start of Something New

For those of you who know my mom and I, you know we make cakes. We make cakes for friends, and friends of friends. This has been a word of mouth thing. We really enjoy seeing what we can create.
We decided to start a blog to show you our cakes. Mainly the ones we have made most recently.
I am looking forward to this weekend. I have 3 cakes to make. All for friends and family. I will post pictures of them as soon as they are finished. I am also making my first diaper cake for a friends baby shower this weekend.

This is a cake that I made last year for a halloween party. It is pumpkin spice, with cream cheese icing covered in fondant. (I thought it was perfect for the season, and I am gearing up to make one for myself for next weekend.)
